The Habitat of Hybrid
The world has become so accustomed to the vehicles we are always driving. Our interstates are crammed with them every day, blowing their horns at each other when the light turns green, passing one another when one is going too slow; sending emissions out behind us and pollution in the air. Since we’ve been dealing with it for so long – our entire lives for many of us – it’s hard to imagine the world any other way or see why it needs to be changed.
What Would the World Look Like if All Cars Were Hybrid?
Imagine a world with much less pollution. Imagine running through the cool night air until you’re out of breath, and as you inhale the air around you, it tastes differently than before – it’s pure. It smells sweeter and cleaner; the atmosphere feels less tiring and stressed. It probably causes fewer headaches, allergies, and even looks prettier than the polluted air of the past.
Imagine how much the world would change. The cost of gas would probably go down, because it wouldn’t be as necessary anymore, and the money everyone would save would help them pay their mortgages. Then perhaps there would be less foreclosures, homelessness, and crime. The little changes made, one at a time, add up until the whole world becomes a brand new place.
How to Make It Happen
Buy a hybrid as your next car purchase. Start saving the money for it now. It isn’t as though you will be doing something entirely for someone else (the environment). You would be doing it for yourself too, because that new environment would feel so much nicer to live in, and there are other benefits as well. You would also save money in gas and be able to claim a tax credit. When you are ready to purchase a hybrid, start looking at an auto dealership, such as Toyota or Honda, that have hybrid cars included in their selections. You may also want to look through the classified sections of newspapers, E-bay, Craigslist or websites devoted specifically to hybrids. Then you will be well on your way to creating a new “habitat of hybrid.”
Does your Dog Look Like his Name?
There is more than one school of thought on the question of whether or not your dog should look like his name. Some people of course say yes they should. Others think that you name a dog whatever you want to it doesn’t matter. Still some believe that the dog will grow into the name you give them; it’s certainly true with most people. Lastly some think that the real fun comes with giving your dog a name completely opposite their physical appearance. Think about the irony of a small dog named Brutus or a large dog named cupcake.
Take a Look at your Dog
Sometimes the best way to pick out a name for your dog is to take a look at him. What does he look like? If he is a big dog you might want to give him a name that conveys his largeness, Moose, Bear or Sumo are interesting words that represent something big. If he is spotted you could think of things that are spotted looking such as a Domino, Bandit or Speckles. Placing the emphasis on your dog’s physical appearance when selecting a name is one way to make sure your dog’s name fits his look.
Choosing the Perfect Name
Naming dogs based on their color is a popular trend, dogs come in a variety of colors and there are many items that represent those colors so it is a natural fit when you choose to name your dog based on his coloring. As an example, white haired dogs often have names like snowball, ice or ivory all are names that covey the color white.
If you are a little stuck and having trouble, observe your dog for a few days. Get to know his personality and examine his manner. That will be a big help in narrowing down the search for a name.
Genital Warts Treatments
Genital warts are caused by an infection of the human Papillomavirus known as HPV. They are growths on or near the genitalia or anus and can be contracted most often by sexual contact. They appear as small reddish growths and sometimes sort of look like cauliflower or other times they can be barely visible. Both men and women can get genital warts and they are highly contagious. You should never use treatments that are used for warts on other parts of the body to treat genital warts.
If you have discovered that you have genital warts you should watch them very carefully. If they do not go away after a week or so you should treat to shrink the warts. Unfortunately you cannot receive a treatment that will kill the HPV that causes the warts. Only time can possibly rid your body of the virus. You can however be treated with different methods to remove the warts. But they may return as long as you are still infected with HPV.
Some of the methods used to get rid of the warts are topical; others require a more invasive procedure. One method of removing the warts is to apply one of several prescription topical ointments. These ointments can irritate the surrounding area in varying degrees.
Imiquimod – A topical ointment that is used to treat various skin conditions. Side effects include swelling, redness, itching, burning and can cause a permanent change in skin colorization. This medicine should cause the warts to scale over, dry up and fall off.
Podofilox –A liquid or gel that removes warts by stopping cell growth. Side effects include pain, itching, burning, swelling and redness.
If a topical treatment does not relieve your genital warts or if you can’t use a topical treatment for other reasons, for example pregnancy, you may have to try another genital warts treatment. Some other options include
- Cutting the wart out of the skin through the use of an electrosurgical procedure.
- Freezing off the warts with a cryotherapy treatment, liquid nitrogen is often used in the procedure.
- Chemical removal of warts can be done, the treatment takes several applications. Over the course of the treatment the warts will dissolve.
